Convention variants are ghey. They serve no purpose other then to make tens of thousands of store owners flock to every minor comic con event in order to stock up on these variant copies so they can sell them for $$$ on eBay. It's ridiculous. 893naughty-thumb.gif 1990's all over again. When the store owners get overly greedy, its time to pull out.

The variant edition was only available at the con with the purchase of advance tickets. The comic also had to be picked up on location.

It was the same thing with the Ultimate Spiderman 1/2 variant. That book was only available with advance tickets to Wizard's Philly con. It was high priced

for a while but things settled down -- as it will now. Can't blame the dealers -- only the buyers -- "a fool and his money 893blahblah.gif"
