Nearly identical Eldon signatures show up on books from 1940 to 1947 ( at least), when he would have been 6-13 years old (assuming he was Eldon Hamann). My guess is that Eldon actively picked up back issues in the late forties and signed them all then to claim ownership, perhaps to insure his younger sister didn't think they were to be shared, like the subscription to True Comics.
