If the top and bottom of the cover are production defects then I think 9.0 is very possible.

 

But I am not very good with SA Marvel production defects. So I would like to hear some other opinions.

Some of my concern is the soft corners/creases. I don't have the book but was thinking about buying it.

The only thing (and it's pretty small) is the lower left hand corner. Other than that, a 9.0 is possible. Good colors on it.

Looks like a couple of rack-stresses on the back cover/spine and a tick or two on the front cover...I'm thinking 8.5...

(But I think it has a shot at 9.0 but if I had to bank on it I'd go with 8.5...)

 

I need that one in 9.0...

I do agree with everyone here...matter of fact I wasn't sure if it would hit 8.5, but the seller has it listed as NM- which I know didn't have a shot.

I'm coming in at the end here, but I agree with you, Rube. I don't think it can get to a 9.0 with those little color-breaking creases in the LRC. I would say 8.0, maybe even some risk to a 7.5.

I agree with everyone regarding the LRFC but could still see this book grading somewhere in the 8.0-8.5 range...nice copy of a book that's harder to find in high grade!

Steve, that BRFC corner could give you issues, I'm thinking VF+ but it might squeeze a VF/NM

Based on the top of the book, the LLFC with the what looks like two color breaking creases, the color loss/scraping to the left of that, the blunted LRFC, the color loss/scrape to the left of Sue Storm, the one to two spine stresses, the small scrape on Johnny's arm and the weird circle on dooms face to the left of his nose I'm going to have to ballpark the book at 8.0. (Having a mouse with a built in magnification button is really helpful!!)
