OO Cullpepper Collection- late 70s and forward-high grade to mid grade

223 posts in this topic

This run is all over the place.

Several weeks ago, I bought an OO collection from a guy in Cullpepper, VA.

He mostly collected first issues, a majority of this run is #1's.

It's got marvel, DC, Image, and indy stuff.

A lot of it is high grade NM/NM+, but there's equal ammount low and mid grade.

Mostly high grade though.

On top of that, there's a lot of stuff I've never seen before either.

He's got a nice little mid-grade run of later GI JOE (marvel) books in there, Liefeld Image books, Topps comics, Inovation, Dark Horse...just a WIDE range of stuff.

I'm going to try to stay on top of this, but it's a lot, so bear with me.

Shipping isn't going to be crazy, I'll never charge more then typical mail.

However, if you're in the UK or something, seriously ask me.

Hellblazer in UK picked up some killer HELLBLAZER books, but his ship cost was $30 to the UK. And that's just first class, nothing overnight. Mail costs have gone up.

Media mail in the US is still reasonable, like $3.75 to $5 depending on how many books you get.

Priority US, you can do something like 20 comics in a flat rate box for $11

First class is still pretty good, I think I mailed something to Chicago the other day, it was $6

And all my stuff goes out boxed if I can help it.

I'm a huge stickler for damaged books due to lazy packaging, slid into envelopes, that kind of stuff. You'll get your books the way they leave my house...in one piece, undamaged.

I'm going to start this thread off a little agressive.

This book, I think I've only seen ONCE before in my life.

It's very reminiscent of those EVIL DEAD comics that Dark Horse put out in the early 90s.

This book is FLAWLESS.

It's a 9.8 if it's anything, no questions asked.

If it doesn't sell, I'm sending this into CGC next week.

It's beautiuful, NM++ Mint

And those covers are tricky because the shinny card stock can chip or hold fingerprints. He obviously never opened this one.

SHADOW of the TORTURER #1 NM+

Another book that I've never even seen before.

I was only familiar with some of the other inovation books (Green Hornet coming up later in the thread, BTW)....Quantum Leap, Interview with the Vampire, etc.

This book is really nice.

BEAUTIFUL interior artwork that is very much like early Sandman.

Another unread copy from this guy's run.

These next two are odd.

There are two covers, HOWEVER...both covers are attached to each.

So issue A has white cover front, four color cover stitched behind it, vice versa.

Also, I have 3 cps. each for anyone who wants it.

BACKLASH #1 NM+

James Bond-

GOLDENEYE #1 NM+ (early Brian Stelfreeze art) TOPPS Comics

Another book that I personally haven't seen in high grade like this in years.

Again, 9.8 in the bag EASY.

I saw there's an issue #0 of this in 9.2 or something on GPA, sold for $50

Nothing for issue #1

$10

LONE RANGER & TONTO #1 NM/NM+

From TOPPS Comics, circa early 1990s, this was out on the heels of those really great Jonah Hex westerns that Lansdale & Truman did together.

A really great book, if you've never read this, treat yourself.

$3

UNION #1 NM+++

I think this is a foil embossed variant, but I'm unfamiliar with the run.

A book that if it had a shot at 9.9 or better :acclaim: at CGC, this is it.

Cardstock cover, perfectly square, no chips, never touched by the looks of it.

Early Mark Texiera art, I think. Can't swear if this came out before or after his SABRETOOTH mini series around the same time or not.

$5
