Nice books from a zero-feedback seller...

Well they don't look like stolen scans at least. smirk.gif

If he is hip enough to know about regrade (resubmit), how come he doesn't put the number in the item description since you can't see it from the poor pics? confused-smiley-013.gif

Hmm, both were listed on Free Listing day with the auctions starting at 9.99. Saving 60 cents on listing costs was enough of a nudge to get the seller to list them yesterday? The seller registered on Dec. 13th, I'd think putting them up before Christmas would be more typical behavior from a new ebayer ...

It may very well be completely legit, but it sets off my spider sense 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

The fact that both books were listed without a reserve concerns me....... 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

truthfully...

i would consider taking a shot at these because the layout, pics and text all seem to suggest newbie. the only thing that would hold me back at all is the money order/check scenario. i think this is probably a newbie mistake too. everyone has to start somewhere but people need to realize that

1)buyers feel somewhat more secure if they see that they can use paypal or some type of online payment service. even if they want to pay with a check, the ability to use it suggests legitimacy

2) i firmly believe that bids on high end books tend to go higher with the ability to use credit cards. that extra 50 or 100 dollars is a lot easier to spend if its on plastic and not hard cash for the average buyer

hopefully they are the real deal though. if so, someone might get a decent deal on one of these as the zero feedback might scare off some folks grin.gif

I am trying to understand his logic in asking us to regrade them. From a CGC 9.6 122 to a 9.8 is impossible. Having it regraded and dropped to a 9.4 is more of a reality. Really insults my intelligence and sellers like this usually don't pan out. More of a ploy/enticement strategy that he is a better grader than CGC .

But on the other hand this appeals to our greed and someone will bite. I love trying to figure out these newbies and of course that is the question.

I had a seller that actually stated that a book was undergraded by CGC in his auction and boy was he right. wink.gif I sent it in for a regrade because I felt the same way he did and got a 9.8 on a Spidey #300!!! cloud9.gif
