showcase22gr1959
Here is something you guys might appreciate. I just found this while going thru some boxes. An ad for the WPa books. Yes even the GA are from the collection except for the MH of course. I bought the GL 1 and the Showcase 43, it graded CGC 9.2. The Showcase 22-24 were already sold. I was told that a dealer was selling some of the GA books from this collection as Mile Highs. Best, Tom When and where did this ad appear? Who was the dealer? Long before dinosaurs ruled. At least this is not a scribble ad. Edited February 12, 2011 by showcase22gr1959

ciorac
I get where you're coming from. Curious though why that particular sale troubles you, since there are plenty of record price sales? You are right, many trouble me. But I've always harbored a goal of a SC 22, SC 4 and JIM 83, etc in solid 6.0 - 7.0. That ship has sailed. Who knew when I had some of them in those grades, or better, years back, that they wouldn't always be as cheap as they are plentiful? The ones that go for five and six figues lay waste to my sensibilities too, but super high grades aren't on my radar anyway, so I stress on them but not as much as the mid and low grades that sell for crazy prices. Boba
I hear ya, and I'm guilty of doing a little flipping myself. My question is where the heck are these books hiding? You can find decent Marvels anytime but even mid-grade DC's keys seem to be a challenge to find.

showcase22gr1959
Here's a cool ad I found in one of my comic source magazine (dated 1994). An Action 1 VFN for $135000 and the Showcase 22 VFN for $5000, and a bunch of other cool stuff.
Boba
Cool. But I must be missing something here. The numerical grades don't seem to match the stated grades (the SC #22 has 4.5 which is a lot lower than VFN). The SC #4 says NM 80 (4.0) $60,000! Maybe those aren't CGC numerical grades?
