Gotta disagree with you there. That is a beautiful book.

It's just the white spine, I have a thing about tapering white spines, I don't mind even straight ones as long as not too thick, so if I was spending that much coin on one it would have to better than that for me.

My last deep dive into the census was in January. And I've been in a comic book mood lately so I jumped back in the pool. Here's what I found:

Eight first time 9.8s popped up since then. I think Captain Marvel #22 and Marvel Spotlight #2 are the headliners in that group.

The books still without a 9.8 include Incredible Hulk #158, Iron Man #44, Marvel Premiere #5, X-Men #76, and Sgt. Fury #95, #99, and #105. I had never noticed that about Marvel Premiere #5 before.

Of the 388 books, there are:
102 books without a 9.8 (was 110)
35 books without a 9.6 or better (was 37)
10 books without a 9.4 or better (was 12)

This is hugely helpful.  Thank you!

Just about all of the books in your "toughest hero books" list are on my 9.6 WP want list.  At least I have them all in 9.4, but it sounds like I'll be searching a while for those elusive upgrades ...

That's an awesome cover.  I always thought this one with an April 1973 cover date was cool:

My apologies to all picture frame lovers for the diversion to the post-PF era.

And ... just a moment ago I found out how my raw AA #9 did (after a press).

Close but no cigar!

Here's a large straight one, which means distracting text for a picture frame November 1971 giant.  At least it's pretty straight.

Just wondering, How many people check the grades before receiving their books? I never do.

Checking online takes away from the suspense of the unboxing.  But I quit submitting well before turn-around times got as long as they have, and I totally get wanting to go online as soon as the grades (finally!) are available.
