One of my favorite covers.

Just a shame about the spidey blurb.

And I collect my birthday books and here's a pic. There's other bronze of the month there but there's mpfs as well.

Since they go in the rack raw I try to buy in the vf-vf/nm range.

Though I do have a tendency to see copies I've already got in the fn range for $5-$10 so buy them to give it a authentic looking spinner rack look. I may have to limit books to a max of 6 and have two sections of 3 books.

So cool, that spinner rack, takes me right back to buying comics at the 7-11 when my long comics journey started in the picture frame Marvel era.

There are a few westerns that have an expanded left margin on their picture frame designs.

This is amazing, by the way.

Also I agree that's a great Gil Kane cover, and though I'd never seen it before the Spidey blurb caught my eye immediately.  Obviously they were doing what they could to get some Spidey fans to try the book out.  Hey, at least they didn't have Spidey get tossed through a time vortex to create a team-up story.

Sometimes, the picture frame design cramped the cover artist, and made for a cover that was too busy.

Other times, the cover artist busted out of the confines of the picture frame, especially Gil Kane.

Kane's 'busting out' design is dynamic, as it goes beyond the use of depth perception within the frame and creates the illusion that the action and characters are flying out of the framed picture right toward the reader.

I agree -- it's very effective.

I just wish I could take my eyes off of DD's bizarre ribcage.

Yes, I must double post. This stunning Kane/Everett combo is not the easiest to find in sharp condition with a decent wrap and centering ... especially at a decent price.  @drbanner GOD BLESS ...
