Billy did get the cooler book. I'm holding out for Jon Berk's copy though.

Congrats Billy on your NICE Fantastic 3. Major turning point in your collection. Love the PQ. I know this is Harley Yee's grail goal and he has had it all, seen it all in comicdom. Dealers seem to love this book!

And as an added bonus, after Billy drove off with his book I went and played some cards.

Finished $1150 on the plus side. That, my friends, is a good day (thumbs u

Sweet deal boys. Now let's keep that winning going all the way to Vegas this summer.

i gave up one of my best books for this baby, but i am very, very happy. really thought i'd never have one, which absence would have led to me getting out of the fox run at some point most likely. i'm in for the duration now, down to just 3 books.

Beautiful book Billy. And a nice scan too

So Billy has been trying to figure out how to acquire the Fantastic 3 for the last two or three weeks. He had to work out something where he had enough books sold to cover the cost, but didn't want to sell if A-1 wouldn't accept his offer. Yet didn't want to make an offer unless he had books sold. A classic Catch-22.

But Billy is a smart guy (believe it or not) and remembered that he had a book that I have coveted for as long as he has had it. He proposes that I make Brian an offer on the Fantastic 3. If Brian accepts the offer I would buy the Fantastic then trade it to Billy for his book, a little cash, and some future draft considerations. A sign-and-trade deal for you sports buffs. I make a call to Brian, and we arrived at a number that made everyone say, "damn, that's a lot." But we all agreed. A check was sent and this arrived in the mail...

It is so pretty that the first thing I did was call Billy and say, "No Deal!"

We met up yesterday in Lake Charles, La., A perfect halfway point because, coincidentally, it has a casino with the closest legal poker room to Houston.

It was there that we exchanged the hostages, Billy got his Fantastic and I got this...

Great story and what a nice pair of books!! A good day indeed!

That Fantastic 3 sports one amazing drawing. Excellently rendered, especially the fallen robot! Congrats on the fine addition BP!

coincidentally has that same spine split at the top that the central valley had [i'm told], thus the knockdown on grade. but give me a 7.0'ish looking book with a discrete flaw that makes it technically a 5.0 over a generally worn-down to 5.0 any day. i am ecstatic with the book, bb.

and thanks.
