Dark Knight
Maximum you can save is 250$ not a penny more since some time a few years back Ebay charges a maximum of 10% on any item from 1$ to 2500$ and not a penny more for anything over 2500$. The one that gets you is the 3% paypal fees but then again I am not even sure if they charge anything over the first 2500$. You would need to contact paypal and ask. I am 100% sure with Ebay even if you sell a 10$ million dollar item you pay a maximum of 250$. I have sold a few items in the 10 000$ to 20 000$ over the last few years and never paid more than 250$ and as far as paypal I simply can't remember as stated above. This has now changed. I talked to eBay last month or so and theyou said the maximum amount they charge for fv fees is $750 which equates to a sale of $7500.

SupergirlDC1959
A lot of bidders do not trust 2nd chance offers especially ones that happen so fast they think they where shilled bid. He could also have sent a 2nd chance offer and still re list it like he did and witch ever one sells first he would take the other auction down but he would be running the risk of paying 750$ fees on his current auction (aka ebay penalties if he did receive at least 1 bid). entalmighty1
I wonder if the buyer only realized at the end when he won that the comic was located in Canada and basically backed out as to not have to pay duties on the item (or very expensive shipping to insure the item). Now that really sucks for the seller what a waste of extra time and people that bid will most likely not bid again since they will think this is some sort of ''scam'' aka shill bidding (this exact same thing happened to me when I sold a item that had a value of over 10 000$). Again, US buyers don't pay customs for items shipped from Canada.
SupergirlDC1959
That truly sucks I bet most people are no happy with this versus a maximum of 250$. But I guess if you are selling a very expensive item say 50 000$ or more then it is still much better than the 19,5% most auction houses charge (unless you make a side deal with them). Iceman399
Seller fees are related to the type of account and whether or not you have a store/power seller. If you have a store ($12 a month) the most FVF will be $250, and can go down from there based on power seller level. If you don't have a store it would be $750. SupergirlDC1959
That is most likely new because I do not have a store (and never did) and back then I was not a power seller (I am now) and never paid more than 250$.

SupergirlDC1959
Best to do private sales on websites such as this that way no one ''steals'' our hard earned money. They all want to ''steal'' the profit we should be making for holding on to the books ourselves.

Action252Kid
I miss the max $250 fees You can still get the fees maxed out on a high dollar item if you just open a "basic store" for (I believe) $19.95 for one month. You can pay the $19.95 for one month and sell your expensive item, but the fees are capped at $250 since you have a store (whereas they would be capped at $750 if you didn't have a store). I don't know why eBay does it this way, but it's definitely worth it to just open a store for one month then cancel, to save on the final value fees. That sounds like a great idea I'll look into it, thanks! I thought by having a store, you need to sell a certain amount of items and have sold a minimum amount of $$$ to be eligible? Also need to have perfect 5 star standing in all categories? I think I have two 4.9 stars

You can have those 150 things sit and rot as much as you want. If you are able to sell $3000 + 100 different transactions you will then bump up to level 1 of discount (FVF become 8% instead of 10%). By having a store your max cap is set to $250 so as mentioned have a big item you plan to sell, get a store for a month or two. I know the DSR counts some how in determining discount etc but not sure exactly how. I have a 5.0 across the board except my Shipping time/Cost which I wish ebay would "enforce better", everything of mine goes out the next day and I lose money on shipping. Everything is laid out in the listing in terms of cost and tracking uploaded within 24hrs and yet I sit at 4.
