Comic Link Found my book!

ComicLink misfiled my books that I had consigned to them (in person) to auction and they missed the auction. They found the books. It all worked out for the best as I sold them myself for more than they estimated they would bring and I didn't have to pay any commissions.

Well I'm hoping its just something small and I get the book. I will be the first one to post and say that I received the book if it comes in.

No, this was in October for the November auction. I really like the new guy they hired and shipped up to Maine, Joe, I think. So, I decided to give them another shot and they dropped the ball like it was hot. I really have no use for them now. Unfortunately, once in a coon's age, they do get books I want for my collection. I just have a friend bid. I rotate friends so they don't get suspicious or notice a pattern.

Isn't the OP a "friend" of ComicSupply? I thought he'd be used to comics being mislaid (shrug)

So I take it that you think I should be ok with what happen because I know CS?

There is no evidence that anything bad has happened to the book you won. Call them Monday for an update. You need to have a little bit more patience. (thumbs u

You might be right. You might be wrong.

However, it's rather indicative of the distrust currently being generated by the auction houses that this would even occur to you. :(

Or just that some people seem to delight in immediately coming onto the boards to publicly complain about something.

I think he had reason, as CL had already partially mailed out his order, WITHOUT EVEN ADVISING HIM OF THE MISSING BOOK.

Whether they lost it, are hiding it, or otherwise, that's terrible customer service.

it is likely misplaced, misfiled, or shipped to the wrong buyer. Ask for a refund if you have a bad feeling. I like Comiclink and have not had any troubles with them. I doubt there is a conspiracy theory involving this purchase.

sure, complain to the company that messed up, and then if they can't or refuse to fix, make it public...that is typically the way these things are handled, but if one was legitimately concerned about the issue, they would wait a wee little bit to see if there can be an amicable resolution first, right (thumbs u

Exactly. Give the vendor a chance to fix the problem and make it right. If they can't or won't, then by all means publicly flagellate them.

It just seems to me like there are some folks who can't wait to run to the boards to publicly air their grievances.

I know they go through a lot of books, but I still wonder how they don't eventually resurface. I won a Lois Lane in October that still has not been found.

Interestingly, they never notified me they couldn't find it and ignored five e-mails asking about my books a month after the auction. I made a couple calls and first I was told they were waiting for the check to clear then I was told it was shipped to the wrong address (they said they were shipped to my dad, who won books in the same auction, but did not receive the book with his shipment). It was then I was told it was apparently misplaced and they could not locate it.

I do not question their integrity (it being a relatively cheap book makes it easy not to jump to conclusions), but it is frustrating to work out a problem. They did credit me the cost of shipping and offered to refund the money for the comic if I didn't want them to keep looking for the book. I told them I still wanted the book, but at some point, I will have to get the money back before I forget they are holding on to it.

Yes they may not be able to contain themselves but that does not mean that the complainer is wrong...

Separate Thread forthcoming re: Comic Link that everyone will read and won't forget anytime soon. Promise!

CAL is back and this is not his Waterloo!!!

I'm wondering if the missing book could have been sent to someone else by mistake. I'm still waiting on one book that ComicLink owes me, but they actually took the initiative to contact me first saying they accidentally sent my book to someone else and are in the process of retrieving it.
