Popular Post alexgross.com
hes such a good painter. here we are (he's in front) with his mean girls club painting last month at his LA opening. much of the show were pages from his comic/graphic novel of the same title. those are awesome as well. i love his work and have been a fan for years. and his older comic cover re-creations and fake covers were also amazing, but he is doing his own thing now, which is also fantastic. @TheEyeSees rjpb, Dr. Love, Cat-Man_America and 4 others 6
Popular Post TheEyeSees
Thanks for posting that pic Alex! Was great to finally meet you. Its been a long time since I've posted anything or even been on the boards! Our daughter is three now, keeping us super busy, and as mentioned in some previous posts, I have been focused on my own personal artwork and comics as well. I just released "FROG WIFE", the first printing of which is now sold out. Its a very golden age looking funny book, and I'll be re-releasing it in October (second printing). Check out my instagram page (ryanheshka) if you are interested in keeping up with current work. I don't do as many direct recreations anymore, but possibly taking on commissions that involve a fresh take on GA characters or scenes... Thanks for your continued interest in my work! Siege Perilous
Been a fan of Heshka for years and somehow just found this thread! What a treat to see all the recreations he’s done for you guys over the years. While I am on a commission waiting list and contemplating what I might get, I was wondering if any of you could post some of your non super hero commissions from him? Popular Post Robot Man
I recently sold a pulp to Ryan here on the boards. Just a wonderful guy to deal with. I have seen his wonderful recreations here for years. He was kind enough to send me a couple of his comics and postcards. Crazy GA inspired stuff. Thanks Ryan, a real pleasure! @TheEyeSees szav, Jayman, Miamiknight3434 and 9 others
Popular Post Et-Es-Go
I think this thread deserves a bump since there is just so much awesome artwork on display via Heshka's cover recreations. I think it is the amazing imagery of the golden age covers that draws most of us into a hobby like this, so take an hour or so with a beer or your favorite cocktail and go through these posts. Popular Post Cat-Man_America
Recent selfie posted to my FB page (one of Ryan's After Basil Wolverton interpretations is behind me and the Buck Rogers Disintegrator pistol)... Ryan Heshka's color interpretations of Wolverton's work are just awesome to behold! The B&W Basil Wolverton Centaur cover art submissions (there were four) are published in the highly recommended Creeping Death From Neptune HC. Note: Just came across this YouTube review video that documents the book and provides brief glimpses of Wolverton's original submissions... Edited October 15 by Cat-Man_America Ale! Et-Es-Go
All: To see more of Ryan's own creative output just use this link and you will see a prolific amount of things that he has done in his own style. We have only seen one side of his talents on these boards in the recreations that the golden age covers that we have all asked him to do, so know that all of you whom commissioned pieces helped him bring this artwork of his own to fruition. I think that is really cool, knowing that we helped to some extent. This thread is full of a bunch of golden age comic book collectors that many I presume are drawn to the creativity of the craftsmanship for those whom created these stories and the artwork that goes along with them. A very cool talent to have and again thanks to Ryan for all of the awesome preproduction covers that you have done so far. I only wish you had the time to do more of them. Use the linky below to view a bunch of Ryan's cool artwork.
