The GPA graph for this book looks like a mirror of the USA economy and some stocks over the last 2 years...

2008 avg $9560 (5)

2009 avg $7995 (4)

12 mo $6940 (10)

90 days $5986 (2)

Last $5400 (Sept 2010)

Tonite $4655 :tonofbricks:

Hey John :hi:

Glad I sold my copy when I did.

I'm tracking 35 Bronze Age key books in one index on my forum and the results looks very much like the stock market. It even shows a shaky market way back towards the end of 2008. My explanation is that when the market is good, people can afford expensive non-essential items. When the market is bad we have to spend more sparingly and thus the comic market will always trail just slightly behind the stock market. My two cents.

Why do you say private only? All that announcement says is that he won't be doing any CGC SS stuff. In fact, the announcement says he will be doing signings at the show, just not CGC witnessed. Sounds like real TM fans can still get their books signed? (shrug)

Look, I get that you think all CGC-friendly people are just a bunch of money-grubbing, anti-hobby, ruining ruiners, but for the love of Alter Ego, can you not make it such a public declaration?

Maybe, just maybe, there exists a person, somewhere out on the lonely plain, as rare as a fresh-scented convention floor, as elusive as a pregnant Sasquatch, who actually - wait for it - likes Sig Series books and is also a fan of the creators and stories?

OH GREAT MOTHER OF PULP, PLEASE LET IT BE SO.

Your "if you don't think the way I do, you're not a real fan" schtick is tiresome and offensive. And I'm not even a big SS fan

I'm not a huge fan of SS books. Like'em, just not one of my many focuses. I have a few keeper SS books in my collection and certainly don't mind adding more if it's the right sig/book.

I'm a McFarlane fan and this is my favorite Marvel cover of his, so this book as a SS would stay in my collection right beside my HOM SS Wrightson.

He's a shill. Consistently opposed to the concept of encapsulation. Which is fine, to each their own, but don't say that someone who wants a Todd McFarlane Sig Series book isn't a true fan. He doesn't know their motives any more than I know Ed Asner's

John Romita, Sr. did the cover to one of the Marvel Barbie #1s. I am going to try and get one SS'd when I do another Romita sub. :cloud9:

Just saw the ending price on the IH 180 9.4 - just under 60% of the YTD GPA avg... someone got a seriously good deal there!

Insignificant book... :baiting:

It's all about #181!

Based on that price, I guess you're right!

I do love that 181 cover; it's one of the favorites in my collection! :cloud9:

He's a shill.

I am horrible at the name-that-shill-game. Who is that?

His current nom de pain in the tuchus when spoken aloud is "Wee Underscore Stewie." I assume this is a sufficient clue as to his secret identity. The underscore is another giveaway

Close, it's the royal "u", not the low class "ew".

Am I wrong or did the Phantom Stranger end really weak? If NYCC werent around the corner those Adams goodies would of been mine.

REALLY looks trimmed...

Agree, look at how the right edge is straight from the top to an inch from the bottom, where it suddenly bows out. :gossip:

This looks like a roboj special. Wonder if he was experimenting with slipping microtrims past them to see if he could turn more profit by decreasing his number of returns? hm
