His first published comic book work was in Dark Horse Down Under which came out in 1994.

Judge Dredd Megazine (UK) followed shortly thereafter - and then his first mainstream US work in the Generation X 95 annual.

He also did some Ghost Rider 2099 issues before the GenX annual

that's what i was thinking too, also I think doom 2099

But Darkhorse Down Under sounds the earliest if we don't look at foreign stuff (which, of course, we can't exactly ignore...)

yakface is right about Ghost Rider 2009 - that was prior to the Gen X annual. Doom 2099 wasn't till 1996, though.

Well, if you don't ignore Ash's early work published in Australia then I believe his earliest recognised published work was for Cyclone Comics Quarterly with the Morton Stone: Undertaker stories.

CCQ #1 was published in December 1992 and ran for 4 issues. The Undertaker character also appeared in the Dark Horse Downunder series. Here's a link to the cover of CCQ #1 - http://www.tabula-rasa.info/AusComics/CycloneCol.html

If you'd like to see a collection of Ash's earlier original comic, trading card and other artwork, then please visit my CAF gallery -

You'll find scans of Ash's original art from CCQ #4, Ghost Rider 2099 submission page, Marvel Overpower trading card artwork, Popbot and much more :)

Warm regards,

Royd
