I have had rum and pepsi when the corner store ran out of coke (can you believe it - they have serious issues there they do). Actually it is darned close to rum and coke but just - well - NOT rum and coke. Gimme coke.

Every tried Rum and Dr. Pepper? Also very good... but be forewarned... if you drink it you will never be able to drink Dr. Pepper without rum again

Nope. Never tried rum with Dr Pepper. I know someone who drinks vodka and Dr Pepper. It's ... not to my tastes.
