trademarkcomics
First post. I’ve been a collector for nearly 4 decades and I just reached 90% of Amazing Spider-Man Mark Jewelers inserts and was wondering if any of you have seen any of these particular issues: #105, 124 and 298. I believe both 105 and 298 didn’t have them as I cannot find ANY records of them being in the entire line of Marvel comics from that month(either through Terapeak, GPA , Google or MCS). #124 is a mystery as I can find MJIs in Marvels that month but there are zero records of a #124 being sold with the insert. And if you are aware of any other ASM issues(other than giant sized obviously) that didn’t have them I would much appreciate the info. Thank you for any help you can provide. Stronguy
@Get Marwood & I This is the list of ASMs from the OO collection I bought back in 2000. The list seems to match up with what you have. Good match isn't it - it helps to indicate how comparatively scarce certain issues were, if collectors had the same gaps On 3/29/2022 at 4:49 AM, trademarkcomics said: Excellent information! Thanks so much! I am even closer to collecting them all now… You're welcome. They're lovely books, and a very satisfying run to collect. I loved how the early cardstock ones felt in hand, like they had their own built in backing board. Good and solid. Here are the tables I put together for the 'slick' and 'coloured' versions (for want of better descriptions) - I'm not sure I ever established whether Spidey #180 existed with cardstock and slick - my copy was slick - or whether the cardstock to slick crossover was at the end of the print run of #179. It's a long time ago now, but there was some aspect that made me think there might be - a cardstock in another title of the same month maybe. Probably erroneous, though. Good luck collecting them all trademarkcomics, steveinthecity, Cpt Kirk and 1 other 3

Most are not aware but I picked up on this little known aspect of MJIs; they apparently were bound by different machines(as were all books with inserts, Tattooz, Pizzazz, etc) than their regular counterparts. The bottom staples are often(but not always, there are definitely exceptions) higher up. If you don't believe me, try looking for a #124 with a staple in a different location than just under Spidey's foot(trust me, I have...). I took the pic you provided and compared it to a CGC graded copy. comic_memories, mec3437, OtherEric and 7 others 7

Brilliant! No way I would have gotten as far with my MJI collection without noticing that. It happened totally by accident. I bought a book and noticed staple holes above where it was attached and realized it was a married insert. It was then I started noticing all MJIs had different staple locations. As far as not knowing everything when you're an expert. If Einstein lived in the stone age, he might not even have invented the wheel. What we know now took many many minds over many centuries.
