Did you get that from Ed Jaster? I remember that copy floated around between a couple dealers right after the collection was discovered, but it was one of the early books to sell and wasn't on the Oakland list when I got it from Vinnie (Tomahawk 116 was also missing, as well as a couple other "cover keys").

Here's my copy, although the black line does barely wrap a little bit around the back edge. Based on the space between the spine and the HoS logo on Vince's copy compared to my copy, looks like Vince's copy could indeed be 100% perfectly centered!! 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Mike, I'm not 100% certain, but yes it is quite possible that I purchased it from Ed. I'm sure I have a record of the transaction somewhere. A little off topic, but it's too bad Ed no longer runs his own comic business as he was one of the most accurate graders that I've ever dealt with. Definitely right up there with the cream of the crop (Sulipa, drbanner, Storms, VZ, etc...).

PS: Killer copy, Mike! thumbsup2.gif

That's for sure, he was one of my favorite sellers as well. Heritage got a good one!

Guys,

I'm just curious.... is it the poor production on this book that makes it so sought after in high grade? Does CGC take these sorts of one-issue anomolies into consideration? I've noticed that there is a bit of a hunger for this book out there... (I like it because it has a late greytone cover). Overstreet prices this book no differently than others in that part of the run (except for #92, obviously). So, how much higher than guide should this book be priced?

For what it's worth, here's my VF copy. It's got wear typical of the grade, but the centering is pretty good.
