11 posts in this topic

I found this in my stack of stuff the other day and have no idea of it's value...It has a date of 1971 and measures 21 1/2" wide x 33 1/2" long and is in supremo "like the day I bought it" condition...

Any feedback would be appreciated.... 893crossfingers-thumb.gif

Although I don't remember that specific poster, it's about the same time period that Third Eye was doing the Black Light Posters & Greeting Card series for Marvel. I've seen many of the more popular posters posted at $50 to $100 each on ebay. Not sure if they are moving at that price.

Would this be considered one of "the more popular posters"???...

I've never actually seen that one before, but as far as image & art I would consider it one of the nicer ones. Some of them have some pretty crappy looking panel art that's been blown up huge.

Not sure of the value but will buy it if its for sale.

PM me an offer.... wink.gif...but I'm thinking of launching it on Ebay with a high reserve in order to get an idea of it's value.... confused-smiley-013.gif

ArAich,

Third Eye made a set of about 24 posters of Marvel characters back in '71. There are some sweet posters in the set (Captain Marvel, Doc Strange, Thor, Surfer) and some really, really bad ones (Medusa, Conan, Hulk). Yours is one of the better images from that set. There's also a promotional poster from the set that shows all of the posters they made - all on one poster. That one is the toughest & most expensive to get.

In perfect shape, these posters typically command about $100 each. The promo commands over $200, in primo shape. More often than not, these show up on ebay in less-than-perfect shape & seem to go for about $50-70, depending upon the poster.

If you list it on ebay, you might include 'Marvelmania' in your item title - even though it's not technically a Marvelmania item - as lots of folks look for these old posters under the search of 'Marvelmania,' including myself!

Good luck it you list it (please post a link!), if you don't post it there, I'm sure you could sell it on these boards!

Hope the info helps...

-Jeff
