Hobbies other than Comics

I had an opportunity to buy a jar of old marbles at the September flea market I posted about. I could have had them for the value of the jar alone and didn't go for it (they were in a really nice old lead/glass canning jar with screw cap and lid). The rest of the day, I kept thinking I should have gone back to get them.

I may save items which I feel are collectible, but I don't actually "collect" anything other than comics.

Records - I used to buy a lot of import EP vinyl singles, especially if the single had rare studio or live tracks included. I'd buy certain picture discs on vinyl. Bootleg albums. Mainly oddities. I have little interest in this now since you can get rare tracks on youtube and vinyl is pretty much obsolete.

Custom band guitar picks - I never bought any, but I've saved a few from concerts. I almost bought a Joe Satriani (sp?) guitar pick with Silver Surfer on it. Someday I may start collecting them.

A few signed items by celebrities. Pictures and such.

I have a couple of signed drum sticks from concerts I've attended.

A U2 "Rattle and Hum" movie press kit.

I have a stamp album from when I was a kid. I gave it up when I realized adult collectors are snobs and only value perfect/unused stamps. It took the fun out of it.

I'll save coins if they are old and interesting. I've carried a widows mite around in my wallet for years. Nothing real valuable.

I was interested in movie posters for awhile, but they take up too much space. I only have a few. Nothing valuable.

I have some promo items from movie screenings. Buttons, booklets etc.

I have some promo cards packs from the mallrats movie.

I buy comic art, but nothing I ever take too seriously.

I tend to just save things that I think are collectible.

Beside comics -

The large scale Lego sets - (those exclusive town house things) I know some would say that they are childish but when i want to blow off steam or need to calm my nerves I stop at the Lego store.

Lot of things change in 2013 though...

Building Legos is very therapudic for me. I don't collect anything of value other than comics but I have a box of knives from all over the world that I get when I travel and friends have picked up on their travels, no rhyme or reason to them from high quality Russian hunting knives to a handmade machete from Sudan. I also have a box of junk items that have some significance in my life, like a piece of a skeleton that I stole off of a ride at Disneyland when I was a teen. Good times.

Too many to list.

But have a focused collection of Cuban paper money.

I collect Cuban cigars and smoke em when I got them, collect vintage type man cave decor, I also play a lot of pool..any other boardies play?

Ha..That how I started collecting the paper money.

Collected cigars first. Converted a 200 bottle wine fridge into my humidor 5 years ago.

Multiple trips to Cuba got my interested in the history.
