It was supposed to be full of Xmen goodness. I think I paid 200 bucks, and this book was the centerpiece. I waited around 8 months, and the seller had kept stalling (I think this was one of the last mystery boxes to be sold on the forum) anyways, a bunch of shade later and the box finally arrived. All with Uncanny Xmen 200 and up, various issues, no keys, and in pretty rough shape, and of course this copy, with heavily dinged corners. Curious to see what this might grade as, I made a PGM thread, and most responses came back 9.0 to 9.4 I sent it in for grading and it came back a 7.5. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why So I decided to sit on it, then when going through books I was thinking of pressing, I cracked this out. For the life of me, I thought there was an inner defect that would have this graded at 7.5, but upon cracking it, I couldn't find a single thing that would give it a drop like that. So off to @RockMyAmadeus and he worked his magic on it. I think it looks much better in this case I have many more examples of books I cracked and had pressed. I'll post it in his kudos thread. I'm sure some digging would turn up something That seller had scammed a bunch of people with promises of great books, only to have shipped books in very poor shape. I count myself lucky to have gotten my books at all. That book was nothing when the deal was struck and shortly afterwards, the book took off. Both are newsstand but one has the Mark Jewelers insert. Now I’m thinking it’s a somewhat common error, anyone else notice this in their copies?
