I bought one of those 3-packs at a Children's Palace in Louisville, KY. I didn't care about Secret Wars but I LOVED the X-Men and I thought the cover was cool. Those books are, of course, long since gone.

I didn't check the whole book, but the different font used for "Second Printing" (and the fact that the date in the indicia is the same) suggests to me that they just stripped the "Second Printing" copy onto the original plates

Keep in mind that the second printing came within a few months of the first. I think it was on the shelf with #4.
