JohnT
I don't collect pre-hero Marvels, but I picked this one up from a boardie recently.
AtlasFan
Nice copy John! The last few pre-hero issues of JIM had some really cool covers. My favorite of these last issues is the #82 - I am just a sucker for all that super-high-tech machinery. Maybe Jack had some leftover backgrounds for the Prof's lab during his run on the Challengers! Forbush-Man
I just post this in the JIM Appreciation thread, but it belongs here too and ties in well with those JIM's. JIM # 76 price variant issue.

JIM # 76 price variant issue. What's the story on the price? Love the blurb: "The genie with the light brown hair." Marvel decided to up the price on three titles that month: Gunsmoke Western # 68, Journey into Mystery # 76 & Love Romances # 97. The books were orginally printed with .10 cover price, covered over and .12 cents stamped over. There are also .12 regular copies.

It doesn't give much of a clue as to what's going on. Small guy walks out of a room. Kind of understated for a pre-hero Marvel!
cheetah
It's the open possibilities that are so fascinating. Will he be eaten by the cat? Will the big guy squash him like a bug? Will the big guy reach his expiration date, so boldly marked on his starched white shirt, and die before he squashes the little guy? Why are the walls so thin and what is holding that lamp in the wall up? Why does the cat only have three toes? Endless possibilities.

JohnT
I don't collect pre-hero Marvels, but I picked this one up from a boardie recently. Just read through this and every other page has hand inked remarks in the margin alerting the reader to a new comic on the horizon: "Watch for,,,the Hulk!!" "The Hulk is coming!' etc... Pretty cool!
