I would have loved to have had cgc there. I have 4 sketches from Mike Lilly I wanted to pick up. Would have loved to get a Layton sketch too.
Talking with Layton was actually the highlight of the show for me. He talked about the days he lived in NY and had to do his work right at Marvel. He told me he had to sell off his OA covers for like $200-$250 to put cash in his pocket to support his not so lavish lifestyle. Yeah he had to take some chicks out here and there. He doesn't even own a cover of his for himself. Says he cant afford one lol:sorry:

How did you make out with the comic buying? Was there a big line to get in on Sunday?

Sunday was perfect for me with no line to get in just after 10AM. No interest in vendors or celebs so I went straight to the artists. Nice wide isles so no squeezing by or pushing through. Had lunch across the street at Trinity Brewhouse. Altogether with lunch and ticket to the show I only spent $95. Great day.

Got autos and/or talked with Ken Hunt, Mike Lilly, Joe Rubenstein (had a stack of unsorted pages 2 feet high), Roger Andrews, Bob Layton (called Iron Man 3 an abortion), and Alex Saviuk.

Got a Rich Buckler Iron Man sketch.
