PGM Superman #76

I bought this on eBay, and paid more than I usually do because I thought the grading would be accurate, but looking at this in person, I keep thinking that it has been overgraded. The seller called it a FN-, and I feel this is a VG/VG+ copy, even with the slight curve GA books get.

 

There is a 1-1/4" spine split at the bottom, there are a couple of creases by Batman's foot, a 3/4" tear by his arm/rope, some edge wear at the back cover, staining by the fire and Lois' leg, and some other minor wear. The book has good eye appeal, though.

 

 

 

Any help would be appreciated.

With the tear and LRFC, 4.0-4.5 seems about right...rest of book is nicer...leaning toward the lower grade...

The eye-appeal is decent, but the your instincts are correct - the cumulation of flaws, particularly the tear at the spine, pull the book out of the FN range.

 

Looks to be about a 4.0 to me.
