Also just throwing this out there I would like to start a COMICS FOR WOUNDED WARRIORS project because they might want to catch up on their favorite hero also.

If that works I would also like to send comics overseas to the guys fighting for USA.

Can anyone help me do this?

I contacted WOUNDED WARRIOR .waiting on response.

What do you guys think of my idea maybe the boards can make a difference instead of fighting?

Thanks

Frank

regardless of my opinion of you or the debacle that PIF was for a few days. This isn't a bad idea Frank. I would send books to our Fighting men and woman. lord knows I wish some one had sent me some when I was stationed overseas

I was going to ask my parents Topcat's question about spitting on soldiers, then decided I didn't need to. I figured since my family was one of the first settlers of Virginia and fought in every war from the Revolutionary War, Civil War and beyond I wouldn't insult their intelligence with such nonsense.

So, entirely off the issue of Topcat here... I was thinking about adding a RAK offer to the PIF thread & am kinda unsure if it would go over poorly or not. As someone else that's relatively new to PIF & seeing the reactions that people have had to junk donkey kinda offers mostly because of the perceived monetary value differences or even the idea of offering mini-series or anything like that....

I guess my question would be... for a RAK offer, is there still the same feeling of "it's not really worth enough for this thread" for relatively low-value stuff that's just not terribly common to run across from a small-press publisher but that I just wanted to share with others here?

No "hot seat" for an RAK. Put it up and see what happens!

I'm of the opinion that RAKs are a bad idea for the PIF thread, for a lot of reasons, but it's just one guy's opinion.

No. You're not taking anything. You're giving something up for no other reason. I think that was the original idea behind PIF. The donkeys were the cause for it to be twisted to the current outlook that it's all about claiming something and needing to offer something equal in return.

I think RAK's are great.

Doktor, a Rak is a Rak. It can be a single Archie comic or a Spider-man statue. Either way, its just a nice gesture by you. Anyone who would make fun of someones offer would be a . On the flip side, I understand Techie's opinion about Raks in general being a bit dangerous. People abuse those as well. I remember a guy in TGT try to claim three of them in a row in the same day.

In reference to a RAK monetary value means nothing .your offering up something. So it can be anything.. Think RAKs are great but not sure where they belong as they confuse the thread it seems and some folks don't like a good Rak.so its up to you.

Someone could revive the ol' Tree and monitor them there.

That's a good idea.

:baiting:

Not it! :ohnoez:

I should have nominated you. :sorry:

Kicking you in the nads all the way from Wisconsin is hard. This would have been easier.

Opportunity missed. :(

Topcat, so does this mean you are not taking a break from PIF? :(

Yes for at least a month or so

Do you think that will be enough time for all this disclaimer list talk to die down? Have you considered changing your board name too?
