looking at this back cover scan, I think I need a better scanner. The color on the book is very white not at all like the scan.

 

4.5 here...

 

As far as the scanner, what software do you use? If you use something like Photoshop to import the image try descanning and then when you edit/process make sure to do auto levels, and then unsharp mask (50%, 1.0 radius)

I'm not using any software I guess just the one that came with the scanner. Total noob move huh?
