PGM Conan 1

I'm planning to sell this, by far the inferior of my two copies, and I'm wondering what you fine folks think it merits as a grade. The upper right corner tear is not good -- it is still attached but my guess is it wouldn't take much to complete the tear.

Agreed. I was thinking 4.0. And you're right -- the colors are really nice. A shame someone took such lousy care of it (Then again, I picked it up for $5 at an antique store, so how can I really complain?).

3.0 water staining and rusty staples. Still, it's a Conan #1.

Try turning down your brightness. There's no need to scan at 600 dpi either - it doesn't increase the quality of the image. 250 dpi is plenty, it's the compression you need to watch out for. There are two components to accurate scans: 1) the scanner; and 2) the graphics software. I'm guessing both are sub-par here.

Thanks for the grading feedback.

As for the scans, I appreciate the advice you repeatedly have been giving me, but I like scanning at 600 dpi and I have zero problem viewing these images. And after turning down saturation in Photobucket, I find these scans incredibly easy to view in great detail.

If my scans aren't what you like, I won't be offended if you decide not to offer an opinion.

Cheers!
