PGM Dr. Strange 1 (NEW SCANS)

13 posts in this topic

This is the raw scan and not reduced in size.

The big question is how much does that bad crease detract from the grade. You see that it traverses the right lower front cover, and is visible on the back. As you'd expect, interior pages have the crease as well. I'm guessing the book was pressed in an attempt at suppressing that.

Pages are white.

Hi Res - front

Hi Res - rear

On the bottom of the front cover more towards the middle (just left of the books) there appears to be a scrape that runs at a 45 degree angle up to the edge of the table the books were sitting on. Is this on the book or is it on the scanner screen?

:wishluck: Please tell me it's on the scanner screen?

For the life of me I can't see the defect you mentioned so I can't give you a grade.

Oh, and "Bolts of Bedevilment"? Nerd. :baiting::grin:

I'm thinking from the description given that they are printing creases and not a true defect per se! hm

That's what I was thinking too. (thumbs u

OP needs to change his scanner settings. Brightness and saturation(I think that's the problem) are way too high which explains the lack of grades from his PGM threads. And that's a shame because I heart the Dr. Strange books posted.

Thanks for the tips. OP will get improved scans.

Thanks, all, for feedback.

Okay so my suspicions were correct. And there is some small colour breaks from that crease. I think because of the size of the crease it might drop this book down to 5.0.

Maybe joeypost would be able to give some advice on the benefits and costs of pressing a book such as this?

Thanks, all. I thought that I had already had my caveat emptor experience. Return period is long past, but I'm still going to contact dealer as this grade was vastly overstated. Nothing excuses me giving the book my own thorough examination.

Note to self: Don't buy comics when you're in the middle of a life change as you may just file a copy and forget it for some time!
