Wow. Super tough book and a great looking 5.0!

 

There is something so 1950s "middle America" about this cover. It real is charming.

I find the early Peanuts designs to be utterly adorable and charming. Great collection!

 

I agree. Schulz hit the jackpot with the later Snoopy/Red Baron stuff but Snoopy as the star of the strip eventually got old and, unfortunately, Schulz was just running on fumes the last few decades. He coasted for a long time on the good will he had built up.

 

The early work, though, I think really retains its appeal.

Steve is a consummate collector who understands that collecting what you love often pays dividends. I sold him that Peanuts 1 back in 2006 or so for $50.
