a bit surprised at GOTG2's relatively light int'l performance.  the last 4 superhero movies which were released in China (Logan, BvS, DS & C:CW) did 62-66% of total WW box office internationally; GOTG2 will probably be 43% US, 57% int'l.  - exactly the same % as the first one. still, when Marvel Studios was circulating a prospectus to raise $ (years before Disney acquired them) i think if they had suggested a $2.5BB WW franchise from 3 GOTG movies, people would have laughed in their faces.

Looks like superhero movies are still tearing it up. Including Logan finally opening in Japan, extending its strong showing.

Logan experienced a nice bump, and Guardians 2 is slowly leveling off - but at a fantastic worldwide result.

Boxoffice.com does show it higher right now. But any updates Box Office Mojo was going to reflect hit the other day when it updated its numbers, and Guardians 2 jumped from $820MM to $828MM, which was a mix of domestic and international.

Three superhero hits this year that based on Revenue Ratio are in very good company.

Wonder Woman should match Spider-Man 2 within the next week based on current trends (3.9X).

Final weekend numbers are in, and all three superhero movies experienced a bump (or more, if you are Wonder Woman).

Wonder Woman is just inches away from bumping Thor: The Dark World down the worldwide total list, even with adjusted inflation.

Talk about a powerhouse. Even with adjusted USD, Wonder Woman just passed up Thor: The Dark World, Doctor Strange, Iron Man 2 and Man of Steel.

So far

Wonder Woman,Logan,GotG 2 and now Spider-Man: Homecoming all huge hits and dominated the box office. I guess the super hero fad continues to roll.

And of the three movies this year that have nailed a 90% (+) from critics and audiences alike, two were superhero movies.
