Mr.TawkyTawny
Today is the Golden Anniversary the first issue of DC's Shazam! appeared on comic book spinner racks! I have to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming we now have - not one but two - Hollywood blockbuster major motion pictures starring The OG Captain Marvel. He has the knack and know how to produce films with great stories, casts, and directors who make enjoyable profitable movies. eastriver400 and Bosco685

I think it is unfair DC fans (assuming here) are going against Zachary Levi because they are disappointed in early James Gunn decisions with Henry Cavill and Dwayne Johnson. The three together would deliver on the Shazam/Superman/Black Adam matchup many want to see. But it doesn't help conveying being buddies with Safran and Gunn is what makes him safe and the other folks are not. That implies favoritism which sets some off in calling it out. Kind of like Gunn's wife because she was in The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker and Black Adam and will come up again in Peacemaker Season Two. It appears to be that favoritism versus a clear, logical reboot. WB Studios made a messy history for itself. Leading to fan frustration and backlash. Add to this the WB co-CEO's were bringing back Affleck, Cavill and others and now Gunn once selected isn't it comes across as ignoring what could work to wrap up the original story that WB tampered with. Gunn and Safran have a tough job. No wonder why others turned it down.

Peter O'Toole as Alan Swan said it best, "I'm not an actor, I'm a movie star!" Cavill and Johnson are movie stars who don't do the fan convention or expo circuit whereby Zac Levi invests part of his time as a career actor taking personal interest in meeting his fan base one-on-one. It is admirable for Zac to step in with a passionate "choto mate kudasai!" request for societies insolent to learn and practice decorum as well as to thoughtfully address and put things in perspective to comfort the majority of affectionate movie fans, like me. Cavill has done a lot of posting about topics on there. To include even with the gaming community sharing how he customized his own PC. Sometimes these stars need to pace themselves, though. Remember that Zachary Levi stood up in front of a crowd and swore there was no Zack Snyder's Justice League, even though he had no background or experience with the film (honestly, it was before his time). Yet he spoke up for a Marvel actress attacked on social media, yet not a fellow DC film tampered with by the WB studio execs. I like Levi. He just jumps in on topics to entertain his crowd that then can come across as not well informed. Though I still enjoyed his Shazam and looking forward to Shazam 2. I would say as a comic book character this is one he celebrates and appreciates. Including the Shazam 'Marvel' Family. I respect that. Though I wouldn't confuse the character and actor having the same values. Still, it's a fan thread.
