He is coming to his senses by reducing the price to $800 but the auction is still overpriced for anyone to even consider a bid. If he knocked the minimum to $80, he still will not receive a serious bid based on the write-up. gossip.gif

I hope he answers the question I asked:

"How can you afford to practically give away such comics? I once had an Uncanny X-Men # 281 that I personally graded as "Extreme Mint" which I sold for half a million dollars. You're almost giving yours away at only $128!"

Doubt that it will ever show on the listing but I 'asked a question' as well? Of course if he's got any brains he certainly won't answer it and allow it to post to the auction. Here's the content of my question...

Dear thefearlessness,

You realize the only reason eBay allows you to continue this farce is that they make money off you whether you sell this junk lot or not. The 89 books "remaining" are $1 bin books that for the most part we use as packing material or to line bird cages.

I know it's rude and unprofessional but dammit the Steelers lost!

Amusingly enough, I received several replies this morning from our esteemed auctioneer, (who, by my estimates might be 12 or 13 years old and using mommy's or daddy's credit card to sell on ebay) and here they are for your enjoyment...

I am having a problem with everyone calling this a fraud. It appears that he has the books and if someone did pay the amount he was asking and he shipped the books would that really be a fraud? Sure his grading would suck, but you could actually get the books. I think that he is just out there doing what most everyother person on ebay is doing. Trying to get the most for his comics..

I am having a problem with everyone calling this a fraud. It appears that he has the books and if someone did

pay the amount he was asking and he shipped the books would that really be a fraud? Sure his grading would suck,

but you could actually get the books. I think that he is just out there doing what most everyother person on ebay

is doing. Trying to get the most for his comics..

Based on subject’s original listing, I would have said this auction was ninety percent stupidity.

After the seller was educated by several forum members here, he relists using new verbiage such as CGC.

I now believe this seller is engaged in fraudulent practices by the blatant misrepresentation of his product.

Do you really think he took 28 of his modern books and sold them for $3,000?

Examples of misrepresentation:

Auction titled “Comic Books Galore~No Rating Lower Than CGC 9.2”

“To simplify what I mean by better than a 9.4 CGC rating I mean that they were bought from the company

directly and never opened again”. I suspect the books were bought via a distributor or more likely a

vendor and not directly from the various publishers

“I tried selling this package once before on here for more and it didn't sell so....I had took the books to be

graded by a close personal/buisness freind and I ended up selling 30 of them for the amount of $3,000.00!”

Based on the modern books in his possession, this statement is highly unlikely.

His original auction was for $800 and the books did not sell. How was he able to sell 30 of those books for $3,000? He made this statement for what reason?

To fleece someone that may have less knowledge of comics than him.

“As seen above there is (1) without a value I cannot find so you be the judge it's in 9.7CGC along with

(2) others I didn't list because they come with the collection!”

That 9.7 CGC should be worth a pretty penny. laugh.gif

I never said this was a fraud or implied this was a fraud. What I did state was that this was a junk book lot and that is exactly how I see it as being, especially since he is asking $650 for a grouping of books that have a FMV value of maybe $50 max. If he wants to pop his mommy's or daddy's credit card with ebay listing fees on this frivolous venture that is certainly his business, just as a reinforced work boot finding his rump will be his dad's business in a couple of weeks.
