Compiling a list of Anonymous Classic Pre Code Horror Covers

I've revised this thread to see if a list of classic covers that are not attributed to any artists could be compiled here to avoid the Strange Fantasy 2 drawn by Ditko scenario.

 

 

This website attributes the cover of Strange Fantasy 2 to Steve Ditko:

This is inaccurate if Ditko's 3rd piece of artwork appears in Strange Fantasy 9 (at least one version of that issue). But it serves as an example of the problem existing for our ever knowing precisely who drew this incredible cover.

 

Will we ever figure out who drew these great covers? Or will it forever remain a PCH Mystery? The artists who drew these classic pch covers, especially those of Strange Fantasy 2 and 9 should be given the praise they deserve and posterity should celebrate them.

 

The "Guardians of the Pre Code Galaxy" happen to reside here in this forum. So perhaps an exploration of this unexplored region of space is warranted in order to avoid the confusion and inaccuracies arising from comic book data and future wiki websites that might eventually attribute the cover of Fantastic Fears 5 to Rob Liefeld.

 

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

That's the problem- over time books with unidentified cover artists will, as in this case, be attributed to someone. The internet makes it much easier to do this.
