honestly I thought the same, then considered that they're going to give grading credit. Then again, it's only to the top placer #1 spot, but then it's 4 contests a year!

Maybe fix the quality control issues before holding grading contests. Otherwise things are really going to get confusing.

With all the pics showing damaged books in this thread, I'd only feel comfortable submitting low grade books until these quality control issues are cleaned up.

Feel sorry for those 9.8 collectors who are trying to piece together a set on the registry. You'd be taking your chances submitting that last HTF book needed to complete a registry set with all this recent damage being done.

Wow, this has reached the point of being ridiculous. I don't think I could ever again send a book in to be graded. Scares the crapola out of me.

After a 6 month wait, I finally got back my two Infinity Gauntlet books from the Starlin signing only to open the box and immediately be hit in the face with a "you have to be kidding me" quality control issue.

I originally sent in:

Infinity Gauntlet #1 - 9.2 signed by Perez and Rubinstein

Infinity Gauntlet #1 - 9.6 signed and sketch by Rubinstein and signed by Perez

All I wanted was a Starlin signature added to both books.  Should be easy right?  Starlin did his part and the signature was added to the books but QC swapped the labels of the two books so my 9.6 book now has the label for 9.2 and the 9.2 book has the 9.6 label with the sketch even though there is clearly no sketch on it.  As a result, both of these books now have the wrong grades, signing dates and information attached to them.

Here are the pictures before the Starlin signatures were added:

This feels like it won't be easy fix for CGC and I doubt they can do it in a timely manner but at least they are all caught up on opening up the mail

Yeah.  I decided to stop for good after the price changes.  Things were bad then…now getting worse.  I sent back my last batch of 20 Moderns because of pressure fractures on the cases, and a finger bend on a comic that was pressed by my guy BEFORE it was submitted.  I’m selling off the stack of raws I was going to submit…I’m over it.

This sort of brutal mess up really calls into question if there are multiple copies of the books in the same submission with different grades if they are the correct grades.
