If you check gpaanalyisis.com

You can check this book for free, only goes back as far as cgc start dates, as that's what it tracks.

It could be that there was no need for gaa for comics when cgc started, I suppose idk when GPA started on their own.

I wanted to see if I could find the copy I bought for $750 in 2004, but there’s no details for sales back then that I can see.

I couldn't find the back log on the free link, it only went to 2020, so you're a step ahead! Best I could do is with the last sales portion. Here is one from 2007 but that isn't a graph and etc, so I'm glad you asked

2015-16 I bought a vg raw with crayon on it for $500. In 2016-17 I bought another for the same price, although higher grades were going higher. In mid 2017- early 18 I bought a 7.5 for $1800, where two months before I could have had an 8.5 barely or 8.0.

It was an 8.5 with the MJ insert.  But GPA doesn’t record that detail back then...

There IS a $750 sale under 8,5 blue label for 2004, it is just under the regular 8.5 blue and it doesn't specifically say mark jeweler
