Five Superheroes That Shouldn't Get Their Own Movie!

Agree that the writer doesn't have a clue.

Ant-Man retaining his strength, but not able to call insects, and no Janet? That's the Atom. No thanks.

Hawkman is just as viable as any other hero. An archaeologist and curator of a museum who has flight, strength, accelerated healing, and training in ancient weapons opens up plenty of story angles and brutal fight scenes. The only problem is, can anyone but Geoff Johns write a Hawkman story?

Not many knew who the Guardians Of The Galaxy were, either.

Food for thought...

Many still don't - was this based on an actual comic book, or loose amalgamation of semi-memories? I remember te Guardians of the Galaxy, and the movie, although good, was not what I recalled.

There's a pre-existing videogame series called Ratchet and Clank that features a furry, mammalian-looking, anthropomorphic alien with attitude, Ratchet, who's a talented mechanic, and a smaller robot sidekick, Clank, which Ratchet carries around on his back, often while firing a big gun at stuff. In terms of relative size, Rocket and Groot are an inversion of this, but it's basically the same idea that already sold well prior to the GOTG film, not uncharted territory.
