SA keys that are not 1st Apps and Number 1 issues

32 posts in this topic

These SA keys may not be the most valuable and sought after but they add variety to this fantastic era of comic book collecting. Here are 2 that make the list:

Showcase 30- The SA Tryout Key and the book that took Aquaman out of his Adventure Comics "supporting role."

Strange Tales 101- A major historical point defining Marvel's shift to the SA of superheroes.

Please feel free to add others to the list!

Thanks,

John

TTA 59 or 60 first Hulk in title

TOS 58 or 59 first solo Cap and Cap in TOS

ST 135, while not necessarily a first appearance is a reimagining or reinvention.

Battle issues FF 12, 25, 26, 27, 28 (last two are x overs), JIM 112, ST 107

Incredible Hulk 6 first Ditko Hulk

Avengers 16 new lineup

TOS 40 and 48 Iron Man armor changes

TTA Ant Man becomes Giant Man

Not huge keys, but I guess they count for something.

Not sure that I see this. The Human Torch was the most DC Superboyish of the early Marvel experiments.

Lee couldn't remember as to whether Johnny Storm had a secret identity or not. A merry-go-round of artists and writers.

Doctor Strange #169

Captain America #100

1st issues of SA series but not #1

I'd include Hulk #102 - but he'd already had his own SA title once before.
