The important thing to know is whether collector are aging out, spending patterns, etc. I suspect a place like HA maintains these stats. szav
Mid 40s. Kinda surprises more to see so many youngsters in here. Although it could be that all you old guard TCBCs can’t even remember how old you are anymore, so you aren’t sayin it. catman76
I have been searching antique stores and flea markets for old comics since I was 10 or 11 years old in the mid 80s. I would bring 40s anf 50s comics to school and read them. Everyone else was into He-man and GIjoe and I was the weirdo searching for old 40s comics and old tin toys and stuff. I wasn’t active durning this period(for financial reasons and my futile search for original art) Lots of great deals after the financial crisis. I started picking up select books after 2015 when my situation stabilized but the prices are crazy compared to 10 years ago or even 5 years ago. fishbone and Point Five

Mmehdy
When in the early 1970's I went to all the early west coast conventions, most of the older collector's 35 and UP were the golden age collectors. The older has always been the case for GA, my generation collected SA, and who knows about the others. The GA collector especially WW2 covers have been divided into new divisions of sub collecting, the key here for GA is to antisipate where the next hot sub catogory will be...before collectors realize there two values. Popular Post KCOComics
Turning 39 in December. In the 90s before eBay really took off, seeing super hero GA books in person was a big thrill. I can't remember ever seeing GA books at the local shop where I grew up. I think my first GA book was an Action Comics 53! I was at least 16 and driving and I saw an Ad for it in a newspaper at my Great Aunt's house and called the guy. I think I paid $100 for it. It probably was overpaying at the time, but I didn't have allot of resources for pricing comics at the time. I probably had an old Wizard magazine showing NM prices and convinced myself it was a steal. I wouldn't say I collected GA books until years later. I would pick up one here and there, but about 10 to 15 years ago is when I really fell in love and started to focus on GA books more than SA. And the thing with GA books is, when I find them at local shops, I still get just as excited as I did when I was 16 looking at newspaper ads. goldust40, comicdonna, Point Five and 5 others
