Rose City Con - Portland, Oregon September 19-20

Here comes the worst con report ever...

Saturday I was there for three hours escorting my kids. We got sketches, comics and were amazed at the cosplay. Portland really goes nuts for cosplay. We looked over and saw Carrie Fisher had a long line. My daughter was disappointed she did not meet the guy who is the voice of Steven Universe.

I did not see jim Valentino. I chatted Ryan Ottley, but passed on a nice Invincible TPB cover I wanted.

Today, I had 90 mins. I made 1 purchase, but I have to pick up later this week when I finish payment. I chatted with Harley (and Ron in his booth), His inventory seemed light on keys. Terry had a Superman 1. A local dealer just picked up his first ever Batman 1. Unfortunately, he had it in a PGX slab. I suggested he consider switching it out. Heros had a booth. SilverAge comics bought some nice keys, but their booth did not draw a lot of traffic.

No pics as I'm typing this on my iPad.

I paid $5 for ice cream

Did you fall victim to the ice cream vendor outside in front of the convention center?

Rose City was bigger and better than ever.

Nice see you, Innocuous, and Danny as well. Yeah, I saw that Batman 1 and talked to the dealer about market pricing. He seemed to think he was going to get $35K+ for a PGX 2.5. :screwy:

Stumptown (Bruce) had a nice set up at the show and if you don't know, he opened his own comic shop!!! :headbang:

I also said hi to Bruce. I need to visit his shop.

For those who asked, the Batman 1 is owned by David from Hero Support. He has a shop in Washougal WA.

I didn't even know about the ice cream outside. I got a tasty bowl from the vendor by artists alley.
