Well, they already do these stuff for the foreign Disney editions/stories, not so much extra effort. On 12/29/2022 at 2:20 PM, dikran said: I honestly don’t get it either… why bother licensing? Keep it in-house, synergy, all that corporate speak they are so fond of… target younger readers… give them a «Carl Barks» of their own, I’m sure he’s out there chomping at the bit. Perhaps because they always did it that way? I think you underestimate the complexities involved here. They have no experience doing comics, and it would require a lot new people to produce the, And honestly, I see no advantage in doing so. IMO, makes more sense using stuff already made than producing their own material. Still, it would need a colossal marketing effort to make this things to sell outside their thematic parks. Perhaps they could tie it to other products, such as Disney +. Probably too much effort for a doubtful return of what probably is a fairly small amount for them. Do you mean to produce the stories from scratch? Or to Marvel to deal with the logistics, distribution, business side of things? If it's the second ok, makes sense to me, might be more profitable than hiring someone else to do so.

Popular Post AJD
Nice one Ryan! I got mine years ago from Heritage. They had it listed as a 2.0 but it looked a lot nicer. When it arrived I found that it had no staples! It has some vintage staples from a trashed Pogo Possum now. I'm glad that the previous owner took the staples out, because there was a little rust damage starting to happen. 50YrsCollctngCmcs
I just read that there will no longer be some re-printings of some Don Rosa stories due to an appearance by Bombie the Zombie. Sadly one of those stories is the last in the Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck 12 issue epic. So that may no longer see print. I had just pulled out my beater copy of Voodoo Hoodoo over the Christmas Holiday to re-read and found it enjoyable as always. Yeah, it's a product of its time but still a great Barks tale; one of many favorites. For anyone thinking this is something new don't forget about the unpublished pages of Back to the Klondike! Popular Post jimjum12
This one turned out to be pretty cool. It reminds me of my Pop. He was a fishing legend. "Forbidden Valley" is considered classic by some.... I think they ALL are. Duffman_Comics
Always thought "Baby Weems" was the inspiration for "Baby Herman" in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit". That aside, very nice book. DavideD

Upgrades: Disney Especial might very well be the most successful new Disney publication released from the 70's and up anywhere in the world As a curiosity, very strong results for Disney books in our local auctions, especially for Uncle Scrooge books. In a few weeks, several ultra scarce 50' Mickey will go on auction. Expect to see very strong results on it. ******I forgot one****** Edited March 7, 2023 by Kromak OtherEric, BitterOldMan and Badger

BitterOldMan
Barks also drew “Riddle of the Red Hat” and Barney Bear. Saw in recent Previews, a nice compilation of OA for Barney Bear, Benny the Burro, and Droopy. DavideD, Primetime, Badger and 1 other

This is a really fun early Four Color. I was very lucky to have found one at a flea market as a kid for all of a quarter. I still own it and it was for many years the earliest comic in my collection. A great book and it along with Phantom Blot and Dumbo one of the great initial Disney Four Colors. Popular Post DavideD
And here another nice book from Barks, that I always loved, but it's not easy to find one at an affordable price: March of Comics 20. This one missing a piece on front low-right and the back cover not great, however it can fill the hole for the time being. Some books, you just have to take the copy you can find, not the copy you want. Great pickup! Robot Man
