A few more to add to the collection.

One of my Favorite covers.

I love this cover too. Is it the lighting, or does this #11 have more of a blue background as opposed to the deep green color background you normally see on this issue? (Compare for instance to AJD's #11 in his group shot I quoted just below.)

Since #14 filled a hole in a run, I thought I'd grab a group shot when I put it away. It was nice to revisit these. :cloud9:

It is more blue color then green.

I also have a WDCS 31 that look like it was paintbrushed. I think it is the coolest ever as I have never seen anything like it. Here is a few pics to compare.

Noticed a second Duck book from the Promise collection on Heritage. Looks nice. Should fetch a pretty penny!

Yeah that one is going to go for bucks. Looks to be as nice as or nicer than the file copy Metro has been hawking at shows for over a decade now.

A few of my new WDC&S issues.

Lovely books, AJD, and this cover is a fine example of the conundrum  that the Ducks only ever wear pants when they are swimming.

At all other times they are buck naked below the waist.

Just found this one I have not yet shown (that was one of the main pieces I need to complete Donald before Barks). Not an easy one and here the white is bright white, pages inside are white too:

I think the paper stock on these books may have been nicer than the later pulp paper comics. @tb or @Yellow Kid might know for sure. Fun early issue with a great early duck cover!

Wow, that is killer. Especially with white pages and cover.

paper quality was better

I recall tb's wonderful thread on his MMM collection. He mentioned that there was a run of issues on better paper quality - but I don't recall when that started and I can't seem to find the thread.

In fact Overstreet says it started as of #2 and I can confirm that. The paper of issue #1 is close to pulp, while already #2 is better. I wonder why afterwards they started again with pulp (but I'm not sure by which issue, I only have a few between the first ones)

These Story Hour books were also giveaways with a subscription to WDCS, I think.

However I don't know if the softcover was part of the deal or the hardcovers.  Most of mine are hardcovers but the Beanstalk books are both.
