Original stickers, or what's left of them, and copies.

One of these days I'll find a set of the early issues with the free inserts intact. I used to think finding the Captain Britain #1 with the mask was difficult, these inserts are on a whole different level of difficult.

I don't think I've seen them intact since 1972!

On the shortlist this year was to finally complete a run of Captain Britain. These aren't too common in North America. But I managed to acquire nearly all of them last week from good ol' Doug Sulipa in Winnipeg. Now just missing #8.

What a fantastic post - congratulations Grumble. I still remember buying #1 off the shelf as a kid :headbang:

Do you have the Autumn special? I didn't even know it existed until a year or so ago, very hard to find in nice shape.

I don't have that one!

But I have only been looking at issues 1-39 from the first series. I used to have some of these issues in bound remaindered volumes that made their way to Canada in the late 1970s/early 1980s. That was my first exposure to Captain Britain and Marvel UK reprint titles. I noticed that you had some for sale not too long ago. Man, I wished I had kept them. As a kid, I would remove the individual comics from the glue binding.

I'm curious - are back-issue Marvel UK titles from the 1970s like Captain Britain or Mighty World of Marvel fairly easy to find in the UK? Where would you go to find them?

I bought a bunch from UK sellers on eBay years ago. I got the impression they were fairly common and not very expensive - but difficult to find in higher grades.

This is true, because of the poor paper quality used and the magazine size, they didn't stand the test of time too well, they do turn up occasionally, but unlike years ago lots more collectors are after them and the prices have gone way up.
