This seems to me be one of those, wow-that's-great-but-I'll-never-buy-one-because-it-doesn't-solve-any-problem kind of a product. Really. Why?

I remember when collecting comics meant spending your money on comics.

I'm old.

I see no reason to buy this.

seems like the people who are making these themselves do it partly for the project aspect of working with their hands. I like to build bars and work benches. It is satisfying work.

Whatdya say, sonny? ;)

It's a niche product. I remember the slabs that protected slabs...forgot the company (I've been incognito, frozen in Mr. Freeze's lair for the last six years)....I'm sure they went the way of the do-do bird just like this will.

I guess if you wanted slabs on a bookshelf instead of in a longbox and wanted your library to still kind of look like a library, but I bet they're far more expensive than most would be willing to pay for the convenience. How much would it cost to put a box full of slabs in those covers?

Since 35-40 books fit in a short cgc box, $454.65 - $519.60 + shipping. The only thing I can think of is if you are taking a book to a con to break out and get a sig on, and for some reason don't want to / can't break it out until you are there? But....there are better ways I think.

That's got me thinking. I'm getting ready to get into leatherworking and eventually want to make a satchel tailor made to hold about a dozen slabs, hard case with felt liners or pockets for the slabs. I wonder if there is any demand for such a thing?
