Of all Bronze FF titles, which is toughest in high grade? I vote #120. All black picture frame cover.

I'd say 120, 124, 128 all tie for the toughest regular books in 9.8.  Close second are 116, 117. Honorable mention for 112.

If you include oddballs, the 110 green error and the 30/35 cent variants are the toughest by far.

Only 3 copies in 9.8 in the census, compared with 9 for FF #112, and fewer than that with white pages.  Among the picture frame issues, 117 is also scarce with only 3 9.8 copies in the census, followed by #124 with 4 copies.

:cloud9:-Great Copy !!

I should have purchased this book several years ago when I fell in love with the cover and the price for a HG copy wasn't  a monthly mortgage payment.  Probably going to have to settle for the NM- to NM range now, which still isn't cheap.

I sold the FF120 pictured above a couple years ago.  During my collecting journey, I owned a few other nice copies of this ish:

It's another bronze age issue with the cover printed in varying color pallet.  On some copies, the blue is very strong, which makes the background behind the Air-Walker an all blue gradient and the guy's suit on the bottom left green.  But on others the blue is less strong and the red more, bringing out the reddish purple behind the Air-Walker and turning the guy's suit brown.

When I returned to collecting Bronze FF titles earlier this year I had planned to start with #117 as it was the first 20 cent issue and fairly close to where my reading adventures started as a kid. Seems like a good place to start, but I am always torn on where to stop once I start these runs. Originally I had planned to stop somewhere around 1981 as this was the area I had stopped reading the title. Is there a good hard stopping point somewhere in the early 80's ? Say maybe first 40 cent cover?
