Based on the numbers, the more accurate statement would have been: Marvel has to relaunch new #1s every year that only works for the few thousand people who read their comics  lol

Even the once might Star Wars franchise is in the sewers now with Vader needing a relaunch and the new #1s not generating much interest. Marvel books are nearing the unreadable point on most titles, but as I have stated before, it does not matter as the movie returns are where the real money is at.

That's were the money is. Look at Archie Comics no book sells over 20,000 copies but Riverdale is a hit. We all know Sabrina will be huge on Netflix.  The key is get the character on the boob tube or silver screen.

RUMOR: FLASHPOINT Big Bad Revealed And He Is Surrounded By Rogues!

Quote

In an exclusive report by That Hashtag Show, Dr. Arthur Light will be Flashpoint‘s primary antagonist, along with classics from The Flash’s rogue gallery, Captain Cold and Heatwave also speculated to make an appearance. The news comes as a surprise since none of these characters are featured, with the exception of an alternate of Captain Cold, in the original Flashpoint storyline.

Another surprise is the rumored inclusion of the Caitlyn Snow a.k.a Killer Frost character that was also mentioned in their report. As these character names are dropped, this film’s story seems to be moving farther away from the source material and one can only hope that the story, though original, captures the magic of the Crimson Comet and his mythology.

Miller’s The Flash was one of the most celebrated aspects of last November’s Justice League and it’s a character that movie and comic book fans alike look forward to see in his solo outing, once it releases sometime during the year 2020.

Possible 'Flashpoint' Movie Directors Excited For Chance To Direct The Film

Game Night directors and Flashpoint contenders John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are excited to maybe racing into DC's cinematic universe. Fielding questions from fans in an "Ask Me Anything" session on Reddit Thursday, Daley wrote the pair "still can't say anything" about the upcoming Flash movie, but added "we're excited."

The filmmaking pair, two of six credited writers on Marvel Studios' Spider-Man: Homecoming, said they pitched themselves as directors before that role ultimately was given to Cop Car director Jon Watts.

"It came down to us, Jon Watts and one other contender. Ultimately, Marvel came back to us because they liked what we had pitched for the story and asked if we'd write it," Goldstein wrote. "Fortunately, we may soon get to direct our own superhero movie."

Variety reported the Vacation directors were in talks to tackle Flashpoint following the exit of Dope filmmaker Rick Famuyima. Late last month, Goldstein noted nothing is official as the pair are "still negotiating" with studio Warner Bros., whose New Line Cinema released both Vacation and Game Night. "Deals are in the works right now," he said.

With those two in the chair, they may have to consider changing the title...

Flashpoint: A Tale of Millennial Angst, A Suit Gifted by Batman, and Some Ropey Old B-List Villain.

John Francis Daley posted a gif on Twitter of Flash running with the caption reading, “It’s happening!,” thus confirming that he and Jonathan Goldstein have finalized their deal with Warner Bros. and will officially be directing DC’s Flashpoint movie, starring Ezra Miller as Barry Allen, aka Flash.

This news comes on the heels of The Flash solo film reportedly being scheduled to start filming later this year after Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 2 gets underway.

Warner Bros. Might Be Planning To Shoot FLASHPOINT In Canada As The Film Edges Closer To Production

Quote

Omega Underground is reporting that DC and Warner Bros are already planning to shoot the film in Vancouver. This will be the first time in quite a while that the studio has shot a superhero film in the City of Glass, having previously been there for 2009's Watchmen and 2013's Man of Steel.

This information is of particular note, considering that Flashpoint has yet to have a confirmed production start or release date. So, could this mean that an announcement is imminent?

If the film were to shoot this year or early next, it could manage the previously rumored 2020 release date, which would suit the DCEU quite well, as after Aquaman's release later this year and Wonder Woman 2 in 2019, no other projects from the franchise have confirmed releases.

If this report is to be believed we could see an official announcement on the films production and more, at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con in a few months time.

Sounds like a potential direction change.

Warner Bros. and DC Films’ upcoming solo film centered on Ezra Miller’s Flash may not be titled Flashpoint after all.

A new article from The Hollywood Reporter notes that writer Dan Mazeau, who will pen the -script for an adaptation of Ernie Cline’s Armada, worked on the upcoming Flash film “when it was titled Flashpoint,” indicating that the title has since changed.

As for whether this means the film’s story has changed, the writer of the article, Borys Kit, later tweeted, “I didn’t say they weren’t adapting Flashpoint. All I said was that it wouldn’t be titled Flashpoint. But maybe I’ve said too much.”
