Love those war comics from the UK. When I was a kid, a school chum gave me a stack of Victor comics from 1970-75 in exchange for a few double I had. There must have been 100 of them, and they were great. So different than America comics at the time. My friend and I thought they were virtually worthless because since they were all newsprint, we assumed someone had ripped all the covers off of them!

bad link but deathlok post so...

Man I miss old Deathlok. We used to go at it hammer and nail but I met him at San Diego Con or Wondercon (misremember which) and he was as nice and pleasant as they come. Wore a classy shirt too!

I don't post much around here but just unpacking some warehouse copies of Charlton war books I've had since the 1990's and the Fightin' Army run in the early 100's when they had all new art was pretty good. Pat Boyette, Demetrio Sanchez Gomez, Warren Sattler, I even found a nice Sanho Kim interior. Here's a couple of the better covers from that time that stand up pretty well to DC or Marvel imho. The Holocaust cover is pretty haunting.

While OFF ended years before my time, the month after Crisis 3 was on-sale my LCS acquired a 70s War Collection.  There was a large run of OFF (approx from 115-181) and the shop owner placed them in the 4 for $1 section. I picked up 123, most of the 52 pages and another 12 or so issues. Crisis 3 (which sadly "killed them off") acquainted me with "The Losers" and I wanted to read more of them so I grabbed whatever I had the dough to get.

From the lot one of my favorites was 181, starting from around 2000, I waited many years in my search for a 9.8
