fastballspecial
Ewan McGregor is probably too old, but he would be a nice choice. Jason Statham is too old How about Sullivan Stapleton? Idri would be a nice bridge, but at 43 its only a bridge I think.

Mephisto
He lives in the area and from what I hear he does normal people stuff like goes to Home Depot and belongs to a local gym. I'm sure he's got more than enough money for the lifestyle he lives.

James Bomb! I guess you didn't catch "Spy" last summer. <3 Rose Byrne -cast her as 007! Spy did $110,825,712 at the domestic box office. $235,666,219 for worldwide. That would be considered a failure for a James Bond picture. It will not happen. They are in it to make money. Also The Ghostbuster reboot will bomb. I bet it doesn`t beat Spy`s numbers. James Bomb! Bond needs a twist. I think with great casting and story(Craigs daughter?), it could do better than any of the past four Bonds. I don't think they will try it though
FineCollector
Sean Connery had subtlety, he could turn from charming to deadly with just a look. Craig never found the role for me, he played it like a brute. I couldn't bring myself to watch the last one. Anyone would be better.
delekkerste
Sean Connery had subtlety, he could turn from charming to deadly with just a look. Craig never found the role for me, he played it like a brute. I couldn't bring myself to watch the last one. Anyone would be better. I was willing to give Craig a pass in Casino Royale, as it was Bond's first 00 mission (and it was an excellent -script besides). But, I thought they'd polish him up in the subsequent films. Which they did, to an extent, but, in the end, he was still more like a brooding, brutish bouncer slash Bourne rip-off than James Bond 007. If you thought of him as an "Ultimate universe" version of James Bond, it sort-of/kind of almost worked, but, given how lacklustre his last 3 films were, I'd have to say...not really, at least not for me. I mean, thanks for Casino Royale, but, man, I really don't need to see two more Bond films with Craig in them if we're going to get another Skyfall (dumb) and SPECTRE (dumb beyond belief). Like I said, Richard Armitage is my pick for the next Bond, but, if they decide that they need one of these bigger names being floated around, I'd go with Michael Fassbender. He's got the right build and the acting chops for it. He'd have to work on that accent, though - no suddenly sounding like a leprechaun out of nowhere. Gatsby77
Hmm...I loved Skyfall. Easily a top 5 Bond flick for me (along with Goldfinger, From Russia With Love, Goldeneye and Casino Royale). Problem with the books (and I've read them all) is that Fleming isn't actually a good author. And, well, the Cold War's over. John Gardner did a really good job updating the series for the '80s and there were some decent Benson airport reads about a decade ago. But for me, the problem with films like Goldeneye, Casino Royale and Skyfall is that each were so good that there's basically nowhere to go from there but down. Both Quantum of Solace and SPECTRE were mediocre snooze-fests. At least even some of the crappy Brosnan entries (looking at you The World Is Not Enough) were fun. drotto
I would love it Bond went retro, and brought back the Sean Connery 60's feel to the series. For me the recent movies have suffered from the original becoming the imitator. We have so many action spry movies out the last few years it has become very hard for any to distinguish themselves. So they need to do something with a twist, or at least set it apart.
Forbush-Man
I am bummed out by this news. Danial Craig was an awesome Bond. 1) Connery 2) Craig 3) Lazenby 4) Dalton 5) the rest

Viewed in the lens of how women are thought of today, the Goldfinger scene in the barn with Ms. Galore is disturbing. Ms. Galore advises Bond she isn't interested twice and then he grabs her and forces her back into the barn, fights her, and forces himself on her. Gatsby77
I think we can't go back. Not just for the reasons you mention re. Goldfinger, but also do the failure of last year's retro Man From UNCLE. Also, in the book Goldfinger Galore was a lesbian.

Chicago Boy
agree on 1 & 2. I'd move Dalton up to #3 (he was Craig before Craig) Brosnan was Remington Steele not bond. Speaking of Pi's here's my rankings: 1. Remington Steele 2. Dan Tanna 3. Everyone else
