However, there is a former Marvel showrunner who is interested in reviving Cavill's Superman. In response to a fan on Twitter saying they'd "love to see Steven DeKnight make a Superman movie," the Daredevil exec replied, "So would he." DeKnight was then met with a series of questions regarding his ideal Superman movie, revealing he wants to bring Cavill back in the role and have Brainiac as the main villain.

If only.

Sadly it does feel like a long shot. But a wee bit more time and let’s see what DC news comes from this shake up, maybe it’ll surprise us.

Who the hell is running things at WB?!?  Your bankable star actor approaches you saying "hey, I know a guy who wants to build out the franchise and print money" and you say "no"?!?  Are they allergic to profits?

At this point, Cavill just needs to go to Marvel as a big ole "FU" to DC.  As perfect as I think he would be as Wonder Man, there just aren't enough foils to build a long lasting franchise around the character.  Give him Captain Britain and use his character to tie in to the X-Men.

Never forget that Justice League (2017) is the movie WB wanted. Ignore the poor VFX, everything else is what WB wanted. No Darkseid, no cool as balls Steppenwolf as his own unique character, no character development for the new JL, no At the Speed of Force scene, etc. They wanted the story as it was told in less than 2 hours...

The only way DC film projects ever stood a chance was because of their directors (Snyder, Gunn, Reeves). Nolan should have stayed on as an EP after Man of Steel to do only 1 thing: Tell WB "no" every time they wanted to interfere with a movie.

It now seems that a significant update on Henry Cavill's Superman future is on the horizon. In an article from Deadline about what types of announcements could come during San Diego Comic-Con 2022, the outlet mentioned that there is buzz that the Man of Steel star will make a surprise appearance during the WB/DC Hall H panel on Saturday. The article notes that the surprise appearance will see Cavill tease attendees with more Superman appearances coming in the DCEU. This could mean an official announcement about Henry Cavill's Superman future is coming this weekend.

It now seems that Henry Cavill's Superman return could be the big announcement to come from WB and DC's SDCC panel. Prior reports suggested that Black Adam and Shazam: Fury of the Gods would be the only two DCEU movies discussed during the panel. However, there were also recent reports that Warner Bros.' new owners at Discovery view Superman as a character they need to revitalize. Cavill has always maintained his interest in returning to play the Kryptonian hero, and now there is finally a sign that he will get his wish.

The likelihood of Henry Cavill playing Superman again raises a major question about where this will happen. There are still many waiting for Man of Steel 2 or another solo Superman movie starring Cavill to happen. With Dwayne Johnson set to appear to promote Black Adam, it is quite possible that Henry Cavill's appearance will be used to tease his Superman fighting Black Adam in the future. Cavill and The Rock have repeatedly hyped such a clash on social media, so now could be the perfect time to make it more official as Superman's DCEU future is teased.

Twitter needs to have a boxing match bell sound when you open the comments on any tweet regarding Snyder/Superman. Right out of the gate it’s  :slapfight:
