Ditto on that Avengers 57.  More like a 3.5 to 4.0 given all that is going on there

Bingo. I see a few long diagonal creases on the cover. Looks a bit rolled with  lots of stress marks and breaking along the spine. Plus that split on the bottom. 3.5/4.0?  seems about right but would have to see it in hand.

Your avengers 57 is not even close to a 7.0.  3 inch spine split, tons of cover wear, etc.   I’m close to a 2.0 on it.  it’s ironic considering you have a graded 7.0 Xmen in the same sale.  Please compare the two and be honest with yourself about the avengers 57.

This isn’t about mean people bringing you down and this isn’t about you being a little off on the grade and having a discussion.  Please don’t blame us or try to deflect criticism. It will only hurt your reputation further.

Your avengers 57 is probably the most over-graded key I’ve ever seen for sale here.

I am trying to learn bud - also its a consignment book so I let the collector grade it and price it if it doesnt sell its no skin off my nose (or so i thought but seems it is) I am having a chat with him later today and will go from there. Yes I was very defensive and im sorry trying to be better thanks for the advice good sir! :) Happy holidays

I have to say I agree with the 57, that is why I specifically called it out, although I referenced a CGC 5.0 I wanted to show it was priced double that. I agree with others that 4.0 is the top of the world on that book. What I am not certain he understands is a new collector may not do their homework or understand and if there is intent or not, that person will be taken to the cleaners if they buy that book at 1K.

There is skin off your nose as you are selling the book and therefore it's your reputation on the line as the seller whether you own the book or it's on consignment. As a potential buyer, I have no interest in the arrangement you may have with a third party, I only see the book that you are presenting for sale. If you don't agree with the grade, don't agree to sell the book.

Ding! Ding! On these boards, you are the Seller. If you post a bad grade, YOU posted the bad grade. Not someone else.

The consigner doesn't determine the grade, the person selling it does. Because the dispute will be between you and the buyer not the buyer and the consignor.

Do you have the books in your possession or is the consignor holding them?

I've followed the conversation but avoided weighing in because I don't like piling onto people.  I'm weighing in now because I saw your exchange with @Polonsky who is someone I have an incredible amount of respect for.

If you are sincere in trying to repair your reputation, you have to clean up the nonsense.  I think many of us could look past the FB stuff and give you the benefit of the doubt that you want a fresh start. But that aside, your threads always seem to come with allot of drama. Selling books on multiple platforms despite being warned. Over grading, over priced, not having possession of the books and no returns. It's allot of red flags.

@Polonsky is a great seller on these forums. Not only for the quality of books that he sells, but for the quality of person he is. How he treats people and talks to people. So if you are looking to build a business, that's a guy you should be looking to emulate.

I agree I’ve actually had a really good chat with Lee on Instagram. And I plan to sir it’s taken me a second to figure out the rules of this forum but I plan to follow them. I appreciate the kind words and advice. God bless. Happy holidays 🎄

I did not realize, having not followed the thread completely that you had an encounter with Lee. I hope you have taken something away from all this that is character building. Lee is beyond reproach on this forum and beyond.

Not to mention he was the unintentional catalyst for Dylan getting HoSed and banned.  That alone should win him Forumite of the Year.

Have you physically seen the books or just pictures?
