Because it's for TV, curse words are deleted, including the funniest line from the movie. I don't know why it's called a directors cut. The International cut actually seems to be Szwarc's preferred version if you listen to the commentary. The cut released theatrically in the US was butchered. I know, because I was sitting in the theater on opening day. The International cut is the best, and it's really not such a bad little movie.
